I always thought I was a dog person. For various reasons I could not get a dog. Eventually, my family got a cat for me. It was an Egyptian Mau. I never saw an Egyptian Mau before because they are a little rare and costly. My Egyptian Mau was given to us with a heavily discounted price because some issues the breeder had with her. We named her Snowy.
Snowy arrived at our home by plane from somewhere in Kansas. She was about 7 months old, but was already quite big, definitely larger than most cats at that age. I pitied her very much for having to take planes for several hours and arriving at a new place. She was very shy and timid when she finally got out of her big carrier. She immediately went to the bottom of the bed and stayed there most of the time. We put her in the bedroom for several weeks until she got more comfortable. Gradually she began to come closer to us and try to play with us. Things became normal for her after a month or so.

As you can see from the picture, she is a true beauty. What I like most is her intelligence. She is communicative. Sometimes when I could not see her but wanted to make sure that she was around, I would call her name, she would quickly come to my side. When she wants something she would meow to me and rub up against me. Sometimes she even tried to hug me like a person.
Snowy is now part of the family. She made me more motivated to work and live a healthy life because I want to take care of her. Every day when I get home from work, when Snowy is so happy to see me, all my tiredness just gone.
